About the F-16C
The F-16C Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in more than 30 years of operations including air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack.
The first model, F-16A, first flew in December 1976, and was delivered for service in January 1979. Due to the aircrafts’ high mission success rate and needs for improvements in multirole flexibility to perform precision strike, night attack, and beyond-visual-range interception missions the USAF later ordered the F-16 C and D. During Operation Allied Forces the F-16s flew on a variety of missions including suppression of enemy air defense, offensive counter air, defensive counter air, close air support and forward air controller missions.
